What this profile is
An extruded aluminium moulding that forms the border of a picture frame, photo frame or mirror. The section carries an internal groove that traps the glass on one face and the backing board on the other, so the frame closes without separate retainers.
## Section and assembly
- Rebate sized for the glass and backing board you actually use (confirmed against your drawing or sample)
- Mitred 45 degree corners, cut so the four sides close without a visible step at the joint
- Optional inner lip to hold a mat / mount board
- Deeper "shadow box" sections available where the framed object needs clearance
Alloy and temper
- 6063-T5 as standard: even surface, takes anodizing without blotching, holds a sharp mitre
- **6061-T6** where a larger section needs more stiffness than finish quality

## Machining in house
Cut to length, 45 degree mitre, punch or drill for corner plates and hanging hardware, deburr both cut ends, and sleeve the corners so the anodized face arrives unmarked.
Quality control
- No visible scratches, die lines or colour step between the two ends of a bundle
- Colour matched to the approved sample under D65 light before packing
- Cut length and mitre angle checked per bundle
